The next peculiarity of earthly humans is that they were created evolutionarily as a slave race. We know this first and foremost from the research of Zecharia Sitchin. The fact that we were created to be used as unskilled laborers is broadly confirmed by many other sources I respect, including Bashar (http://goo.gl/iRM7B).
In breeding the earthly human race, the aliens combined the human capacity for natural evolution with artificial genetic enhancements. They used prehistoric hominid primates (most likely Homo habilis) to introduce their own genes into the genome. Through selection and genetic engineering, a number of qualities were instilled in us that distinguish us from many other human races in the universe.
Here are these slave qualities: a peculiar earthboundness, an inability for telepathy and clairvoyance, slave-like thinking, incoherence of thought, susceptibility to propaganda, programmability, and fragmentation of consciousness (that is, a tendency to believe in incompatible things - in materialism and God at the same time), a tendency to anthropomorphize God, egoism, susceptibility to fear of God, to fear, to panic, the deification of rulers, xenophobia, inhumane treatment of those lower in rank, pettiness, a lack of nobility and humanity.
These traits were instilled in us at the genetic level, and over the course of generations selection was carried out to reinforce them. In those times the aliens were present on earth in person and used our ancestors as slaves, in particular for mining minerals. This simple truth, discovered by Sitchin while reading the Sumerian clay tablets, is also confirmed by many sources I respect.

In addition to genetics, the aliens also used state control and religion to govern us. Earthly religions carry within them fragments of the aliens' religion and reflect the governing style of the Orion Empire, founded on fear and violence. By dividing the peoples of Earth and setting them against one another, the aliens of the Orion type successfully governed us, first openly and then covertly. The aliens gave us language, writing, agriculture, domestic animals and cultivated plants, the foundations of the sciences, mathematics, and state and religious structures. The structure of society in the ancient states was modeled on the society of our extraterrestrial patrons of that time.
